Raquel,
2. What type of balance is used in the metamorphosis and what is the point of focus? Does either change between the steps or do they remain the same throughout the steps? Be specific in answers.
The type of balance used in the metamorphosis is a balance rendered from texture in the diagonal lines coming from the bottom right. The reed image from the first slide and the flower image from the last slide are both balanced across the entire width of the image so the eye does not focus on them primarily. the point of focus from the beginning of the sequence is on the pagoda image and the lines. As they fade away the point of focus is drawn to the letter “R” because of the use of the color red and the lack of color in the rest of the image.

5. What do you think of the quality of the design and composition? Is there enough contrast between each of the seven images to get a true feeling of chromatic metamorphosis, explain? If not also explain?
Racquel,
I think this is a truly pretty composition. The images chosen are very visually appealing and contrast well. I don’t really feel that this was a “metamorphosis” however, as it seems that the first image just fades out as the second fades in. The fluid nature of both the designs could have been melded into one another to create a more transitional feel. That being said, I do think that the quality of this design is nice and that it is obvious that time and effort went into creating unique designs for both the first and last slides.
